Responsibilities

STRATEGIC AND GROWTH
Coordinate with clinical and administrative leaders to develop, update and implement the strategic long-and short-range plan to support the organization's philosophy and goals for the oncology service line. Informs physicians and leadership about current trends, problems and medical activities to facilitate policy development and change.

Represents the service line in its relationships with other internal groups and external healthcare organizations.

QUALITY AND PROGRAM DEVELOPMENT
Works with physicians, GFH senior leaders, management and staff in cultivating collaborative relationships to ensure planning and implementation of all of the oncology service line programs. Recommends, secures approval for and oversees operating policies and procedures to ensure continued quality programs and overall collaboration and support.

Recommends performance and quality processes to improve effectiveness, cost efficiency and ensure high patient satisfaction and an optimal patient experience. Supports physicians and direct reports in meeting quality incentive goals.

FISCAL
Responsible for operating budget planning, monitoring and performance for all service line cost centers. Prepares capital budget requests with supporting documentation and justification. Directs, forecasts and analyzes special projects; e.g. facilities, major equipment purchases, addition of new services, etc.

Monitors financial performance of the service line departments and the physician compensation plan metrics. Reviews coding, billing and collection patterns and makes recommendations.

PEOPLE
Promotes positive customer service skills with both internal and external customers including physicians, co-workers, staff, patients, referring providers, vendors and others. Resolves medical-administrative issues and keeps lines of communication open with staff to ensure high employee engagement and a professional, healthful working atmosphere.

Supports the human resource activity needs of the service line directors and staff including monitoring turnover rates, vacancies, staffing patterns and wage and benefit assignment for departments.

Qualifications

Education/Experience:
  • MSN, MHA, MBA, or MS in health administration, business or nursing, or equivalent in years of management experience.
  • Ongoing professional development courses in healthcare management.
  • 5+ years of executive level experience including three years of experience in the administration of oncology services preferred.
  • Knowledge of the principles and practices of health planning and management sufficient to direct and oversee service line development and operational effectiveness.
  • Knowledge of the principles and practices of financial management sufficient to monitor the financial performance of the service line.
  • Knowledge of computer, programs and applications.

Salary Range

The expected base rate for this Glens Falls, New York, United States-based position is $133,500 to $185,000 per year. Exact rate is determined on a case-by-case basis commensurate with experience level, as well as education and certifications pertaining to each position which may be above the listed job requirements.
