Service Line Resource Technician I (SLRT) - Endoscopy

Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00am to 5:30pm

Overview: Are you looking to make a significant impact in healthcare? We are seeking a dedicated Service Line Resource Technician I (SLRT) to join our Endoscopy team. This role is vital in supporting the operational relationship between Central Sterile Processing & Supply (CSPS) and our customers outside the MGH Operating Room, focusing on units requiring scope reprocessing and high-level disinfection services.

Key Responsibilities:

Customer Service:

  • Provide operational support to the CSPS Endoscopy and Customer Service Teams, focusing on outside OR customers.
  • Effectively transport sterile instruments and supplies to support clinical procedures throughout MGH.
  • Retrieve and deliver priority inventory requests promptly.
  • Use SPM to track product status and document movements via barcode scanning.
  • Work within a matrix team environment, showing initiative and prioritizing workloads under changing conditions.
  • Develop knowledge of flexible scopes, instruments, and supplies for all services.
  • Review flexible scope expiration dates and ensure timely reprocessing.


SPDR Management:

  • Serve in a dispatch capacity for SPDR orders from the White 3 Reprocessing Unit.
  • Assist in the transport of medical devices between SPDR customers and CSPS.
  • Update order status in SPDR as appropriate and assist in training other CSPS employees in SPDR functions.
  • Notify the Service Line Coordinator of any SPDR functionality issues.


Receiving & Stocking:

  • Manage par levels of reprocessing supplies in the White 3 Scope Reprocessing Unit.
  • Assist in product movement within CSPS between White 3, CRP 9, and LL1.
  • De-case orders, removing all cardboard to maintain a clean environment.
  • Handle and distribute supplies safely to maintain sterile product integrity.
  • Stock assigned non-specialty supplies and inventory items, ensuring FIFO procedures are followed.
  • Monitor for and remove expired products from supply locations.
  • Gather unused sterile supplies and return them to stock locations.
  • Maintain cleanliness and order in supply locations and storage areas.


Skills & Competencies Required:

  • Strong work ethic and flexibility.
  • Basic computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.


Qualifications

Qualifications:

Education:

  • Minimum: High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
  • Preferred: Some college or Associate's Degree.


Certifications:

  • Preferred: CRCST or CBSPD.


Experience:

  • Preferred: Over 1 year of customer service experience and experience in an OR/Sterile Processing Environment.


Working Conditions:

  • Involves significant walking and standing.
  • Requires breaking down pallets and moving contents on rolling carts.
  • Exposure to the Operating Room environment.
  • Must adhere to a strict dress code, including wearing surgical scrubs.
  • Ability to frequently lift up to 35 lbs, stoop, bend, pull, and place and retrieve material.
