Telework Information: This position is eligible for a hybrid work schedule, with up to two days of remote work and three days or more onsite, per week.

The Retirement Benefit Processing and Maintenance Unit within CalPERS' Retirement Benefit Services Division is seeking an Associate Governmental Program Analyst to serve as a subject matter resource to members, beneficiaries, and external stakeholders during the service retirement process. The ideal candidate should be highly motivated and able to balance multiple workloads associated to processing service retirement inquiries, service retirement estimates, and service retirement benefit calculations with mentoring workloads to ensure CalPERS retirees receive a timely and accurate benefit payment.

Under the direction of the Staff Services Manager I, this position is also responsible for providing on-the-job training and mentoring to new team members who are responsible for the timely calculation of service retirement estimates and benefits. This includes examining processed estimates, retirement applications and calculations to ensure benefits are paid accurately and in compliance with the Public Employees' Retirement Law, policies, and procedures.
