The Accounting Coordinator position sits in our National office in Seattle, WA. The Shared Services department is responsible for handling Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Data Maintenance and Reporting for our locations throughout the United States. The Accounting Coordinator's role is to provide prompt, knowledgeable and professional service while accurately processing transactions, including complex matters, in support of the Shared Services functional areas. The selected individual will have strong attention to detail, the ability to exercise good judgment, demonstrated leadership skills and a motivation to deliver premier customer service.

Responsibilities:

  • Partner with internal clients to accurately produce client invoices, often complex in nature, while meeting deadlines; recommend appropriate billing actions to achieve desired outcomes
  • Process and pay accounts payable invoices in compliance with the firm's policies. Includes vendor setup and maintenance, invoice matching, coding, approval validation, entering and uploading data accurately, and ensuring on-time payments in a variety of forms; evaluate and resolve complex issues
  • Enter/validate new client, vendor and other data. Update coding changes to the system of record (address/phone/email changes, etc.)
  • Post client payments, research and handle variance issues, accurately balance daily transactions, anticipate and resolve escalated issues involving multiple workflows
  • Apply sound independent judgment to understand and meet the needs of internal customers; use knowledge of systems and best practices to advise customers on the impacts of accounting transactions
  • Research and resolve inquiries and discrepancies in any of the functional areas
  • Compile and present billing and accounting data in a clear & concise format; provide analysis as necessary
  • Use knowledge of system and workflow impacts across the firm to solve complex problems and identify improvement opportunities
  • Deliver a superior level of prompt, knowledgeable, and professional service
  • Effectively communicate with internal and external clients at all levels; develop relationships, build rapport, and effectively interact with partners, venders and internal customers

Qualifications:

  • Associate's degree or equivalent experience required, emphasis in accounting, finance, or a business-related field preferred
  • Minimum of 1 year of related experience required; experience in accounting preferred; experience in a professional services environment preferred
  • Proven commitment to providing exceptional client service
  • Ability to effectively research and comprehend complex problems, think critically, and identify creative solutions
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills including the ability to articulate complex issues
  • Executes effectively in a high volume environment by using resources efficiently, meeting deadlines, and keeping others informed of work plans and progress towards goals while maintaining quality standards
  • Ability to independently exercise good business judgment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and SharePoint)
  • Ability to travel as needed, approximately 5%
  • May require some overtime hours
