Patton State Hospital Human Resources Department is accepting applications for at least one (1) permanent, full-time appointment to the Sheetfed Offset Press Operator (SOPO) Ill position. This position is under the direct supervision of the Program Assistant-Education/Voc. (PA Ed/Voc.) in Enhancement Services.
The position will fulfill the responsibilities for the completion of sheetfed offset printing to meet the reproduction needs of the hospital, by operating a variety of machinery and applying a broad range of reproduction and duplication methods in one or more areas for considerable amount of both average and complex work.
The successful candidate shall be not only skilled in applying various printing materials, methods, and equipment, but also highly aware of and able to follow all the safety and security requirements applied in the operation of printing equipment in an industrial workplace and the unique environment of a forensic mental health facility.
The candidate must be able demonstrate experience and proficiency in the daily operation and possess such qualities as patience, tolerance, flexibility, tact, attention to details, orientation to professional customer services, and ability to manage large workloads with short notice and a tight timeframe. Must be able to work with patient workers on Industrial Therapy assignments with compassion yet maintaining a professional patient-staff relationship.

Patton is a forensic psychiatric hospital and was established in 1890 and opened in 1893. DSH-Patton provides treatment to forensically and civilly committed patients within a secure treatment area. The hospital does not accept voluntary admissions.

Training and Development
