The Career Consultant for MBA Consulting will be the primary contact for Simon Consulting students, alumni, faculty and hiring managers. Manages a portfolio of hiring relationships as well as a caseload of students.

Pay Range
Pay Range: $96,860 - $145,290 Annually
The referenced pay range represents the minimum and maximum compensation for this job. Individual annual salaries/hourly rates will be set within the job's compensation range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations.

The Career Consultant for MBA Consulting will be the primary contact for Simon Consulting students, alumni, faculty and hiring managers. Manages a portfolio of hiring relationships as well as a caseload of students.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Generate employment opportunities for MBA Consulting students (40%)
- Meet with hiring managers and senior alumni at major strategy firms that hire MBA students into summer associate and full-time positions.
- Develop strategy for generating opportunities at other firms for students who oriented to other types of consulting or technology firms.
- Segment outreach efforts by domestic and international.
- Visit alumni and hiring managers and interact with them virtually to both surface associate/consultant opportunities and elicit job postings.
- Coordinate outreach efforts with Corporate Engagement team; track notes in SimonWorks, collaborate on group approaches to business development and stewarding of existing employers.
- Manage assigned accounts and generate new accounts strategically and tactically.
- Provide guidance to international and domestic candidates about their positioning in the market depending on background and interest.
- Advise on skill building and professional preparation needed to be competitive in an aggressive job market.
- Motivate students to quickly move through the search phases and be ready for interviews with prospective top MBA hirers.
- Work with external resources that can be used to prepare and place students in management consulting.
- Conduct and critique mock interviews and arrange for additional interviews to be held with industry experts.
- Train Student Career Advisors to provide basic coaching on resumes, cover letters, personal web sites, Linkedln, social media and others using online career resources and tools.
- Consult and coach candidates on associate and full-time offers.
- Regularly monitor employment status of all assigned students.
- Conduct on-going outreach to students using print, personal and electronic media; track contacts and report activities.
- Design and conduct workshops and presentations relevant to students' career interests and market needs.
- Plan for annual career programming such as Day I (online webcasts), Case Interview preparation, Product Management, Analytics and Consulting Boot Camps, certification training, Job Search Essentials (required career workshops for all MBA students), Orientation, TechTreks, corporate tours, and other.
- Engage in on-going assessment of programs to continuously improve and personalize CMC programs for MBA candidates.
- Assist with online and print promotional activities for CMC in the US and in other countries.
- Offer in-service training to staff and student leaders.
- Managerial, Strategic Plan and other duties as assigned

- Supervise and train student workers
- Employment success of assigned students as measured by employment rates at graduation and three months out, quality and reputation of hiring companies, and salaries
- Quality of service offered to company accounts
- Quality of experience offered to assigned students
- Bachelor's degree and 7 years of relevant experience required. 10+ years of relevant work experience preferred.
- Master's degree such as MBA and 7 years post-master's work strongly preferred
- Or equivalent combination of education and experience
- MBA or degree/coursework in management consulting preferred
- Customer/client-facing work experience such as management consulting, recruitment management, executive search, relationship management, sales, business development, or graduate business career services strongly preferred
- Proven record of involvement in coaching, mentoring or developing others in corporate setting is preferred
- Proven record of business development (in corporate or education setting) is preferred
- Knowledge of MBA recruiting and hiring practices in consulting highly desirable
- Knowledge of consulting labor markets for international and domestic MBA students strongly preferred
- Experience with dealing with senior management, presentations. project management, Intermediate Excel, PPT/deck building, data collection and analysis, team building, supervision important
- Desired attributes include organization, time management, process improvement, customer feedback loop, results orientation
- Experience living or working internationally or working with international students or employees desirable
- Ability to travel in the US and overseas as needed is required
- Willingness and ability to work nights and week-ends as needed to meet program objectives is required
