About the Employer

The Orange County Department of Education (OCDE) serves some of Orange County's most vulnerable student populations and provides support and mandated fiscal oversight to 28 school districts serving more than 600 schools and approximately 475,000 students. In addition to providing direct instruction to students through its own alternative and special education programs, OCDE administers an array of programs and services that are critical to the operations of local school districts and community colleges, facilitating professional development, legal guidance, payroll, career and technical education support, high-speed internet access, Local Control and Accountability Plan assistance and approval, resources for families, and student enrichment. The leaders and staff of the Alternative Education Division are committed to promoting a safe and healthy learning environment for the students they serve. The Division of Alternative Education is currently seeking a Social Services Clinician II to provide school based mental health services to students enrolled in ACCESS. This position will assess and evaluate student mental health as it relates to academic success and well-being, conduct initial interviews and individual group sessions. Additionally, the Social Services clinician position will identify and coordinate services and opportunities from other agencies and the business community to support the instructional program.

Requirements / Qualifications

In addition to Education, Training and Experience for Social Services Clinician I to be considered for a Social Services Clinician II: • A valid license to practice as a Clinician in the state of California and two additional years of experience as a Clinician providing services to adolescents exhibiting high-risk behavior (i.e. chemical addiction, gang involvement, teen pregnancies, anti-social behavior, etc.).

Education, Training and Experience: Any combination of experience and training that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be: • Education: Master's degree in Social Work or similar coursework (MFT, PCC). • Experience: Two (2) years of experience as a Clinician in clinical work providing services to adolescents exhibiting high-risk behavior (i.e. chemical addiction, gang involvement, teen pregnancies, anti-social behavior, etc.).
