Clarion Psychiatric Center is currently recruiting for a Master's Level Social Worker. The Social Worker provides clinical social work services in a manner consistent with the philosophy and objectives of Clarion Psychiatric Center and the NASW. The Social Worker is responsible for psychosocial assessments of the patient's mental health; individual, group, and family therapy; active participation on the treatment team; lead role in the development of the master treatment plan; developing realistic and measurable short and long term goals; and assumes responsibility for coordinating with other agencies involved with the patient the discharge and continuing care plans.

Qualifications

Job Specifications- To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to demonstrate competency in each criteria listed in this job description. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required. Education - Masters Degree from an accredited post-Baccalaureate Social Work / Social Service program required.

Licensure / Certification -LSW or LCSW preferred but not required.

Experience - One-year experience in psychiatric care preferred.

Knowledge/Skills - Family dynamics, social casework, interpersonal relationships and regional social policy. Knowledge of therapeutic relationships, therapeutic processes, growth and development, limit-setting and behavior management, crisis management of aggressive behaviors. Communication skills and ability to teach patients.

Supervision Exercised- None

Supervision Received - Social Services Supervisor in conjunction with Director of Clinical Services

General Working Environment - Hospital setting. Staff working in this position may be required to intervene and assist with aggressive patients. Works in a well lighted and ventilated setting, is subject to frequent interruptions, is involved with the patients and personnel throughout designated unit under varying conditions and circumstances. Is subject to exposure to infectious waste, diseases, conditions, etc., including exposure to HIV and Hepatitis B Viruses

Physical Requirements - Ability to communicate verbally and in writing. Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs. and be able to walk and stand for long periods. Able to participate in crisis prevention intervention. The Physical Requirements described herein are representative of those, which must be met by an employee to successfully perform the primary functions of this job.
