Summary
This posting is for a permanent position, M-F 7:30am-4pm within the Comprehensive Eating Disorders Program at Mott Children's Hospital. This is a shared program between the Department of Psychiatry and the Department of Pediatrics. The job duties include providing clinical care in the Partial Hospital and Intensive Outpatient programs (PHP/IOP) for adolescents and young adults struggling with eating disorders. The program utilizes an evidenced-based treatment model, family-based treatment (also known as the Maudsley Approach).

Responsibilities*
You will be responsible for:
- Providing individual, family, group interventions to patients utilizing the family-based treatment framework (Maudsley approach). The candidate will be expected to follow this treatment model and be receptive to further training in this modality.
- Utilizing other psychotherapeutic modalities for eating disorders including cognitive behavioral therapy and dialectical behavior therapy.
- Reviewing records, diagnostic assessment, symptom monitoring, care management and care coordination, evaluating and recording progress with respect to treatment goals, and ongoing collaboration with the patient?s primary psychiatric and medical team and other relevant subspecialty services while drawing on social work experience and ongoing assessment of patient needs.
- Participating in team meetings and other care coordination meetings. This will require preparation, and the ability to make case presentations accurately and concisely.
- Brief therapeutic interventions drawing on evidence-based psychotherapies, psychoeducation, safety planning, assisting family members in understanding and supporting the patient, and referrals to community resources are some of the skills needed in this position.
- Maintaining a caseload of patients and their families in outpatient care.
Required Qualifications*
- Master's degree in Social Work from an accredited School of Social Work
- Unrestricted and current license in the State of Michigan or equivalent
- Clinical experience treating young people with eating disorders and/or other mental health conditions using evidence-based treatment modalities (e.g., FBT, CBT, DBT, ACT)
Desired Qualifications*
- Previous experience with medical and mental health social work.
- Skilled in developing rapport and effectively communicating with a diverse patient population.
- Efficient, accurate assessment of patient needs and effective case dispositions.
- Effective organizational skills, flexibility, self-motivation, the ability to effectively prioritize multiple competing tasks in a dynamic medical clinic.
- Independent, sound decision-making is necessary for success in this position.
- Effective collaboration with a large multi-disciplinary team.
- Proficiency in keeping accurate and timely clinical records by computer.
