Wallstreet Project Overview:
FX is a critical product in the portfolio of the standard Corporate and Commercial Banking offerings for growing non-interest income.

The current FX technology infrastructure is antiquated, threatening the business with obsolescence risk. It is unable to perform standard industry processes, relies almost exclusively on manual controls and creates an environment of unacceptably high operational risk, including regulatory and vendor risks. The lack of automation further compromises customer quality and service delivery thereby creating unacceptable levels of competitive risk to existing and future business.

This project is necessary from two perspectives: reducing risk and promoting growth. The implementation of a new trading platform will enable growth and prevent losses by reducing operational, regulatory, vendor, competitive and obsolescence risks.

This project will primarily involve modernizing the core FX trading platform and the related accounting system. It will involve adding a new service layer and APIs for pricing, trading, and settlement using industry-standard technologies. The project will impact nearly every process and aspect of the FX business and operations, and will impact nearly all upstream and downstream partners.

These were the topics we covered:

  • General Java questions
  • Multithreading
  • Memory Grid
  • Spring
  • Database
  • Reactive
  • Cloud
  • Testing
