Generac Clean Energy team is seeking an Engineer I - Product Electronics and Controls .

Successful candidates should be passionate about enhancing system performance and continually adding new features and functionality to our family of advanced power electronics products. The successful candidate will be comfortable operating in a fast-moving internal startup type environment as a team player and self-starter, who often takes initiative from within teams to bring projects to completion. Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Contribute to overall system architecture definition for sophisticated power converters, switch gear, and energy storage equipment.
  • Evaluate, model, implement, and test advanced, high-performance electronics HW & and FW controls.
  • Assist with the Developing, testing, and document designs with appropriate formalism for safety critical applications as described in relevant standards such as UL1741.


Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
  • 3 months of relevant work experience.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Formal training and implementation experience with Digital Signal Processing and Control Theory principles.
  • Prior design experience with the Microsemi PIC microprocessor family, as well as advanced DSP processors from TI such as the TMS320F family of 32-bit Floating Point DSPs.
  • Prior experience in the development and documentation of embedded software compliant to formal safety certification processes such as UL1998 or similar.
  • Experience with test equipment typically used for embedded electronics development such as Logic Analyzers, high performance Oscilloscopes and Spectrum Analyzers, etc.
