Software Development Engineer - Seattle, WA

One of The Select Group's top clients is looking for a Software Development Engineer to support data pipeline development for new features. It is a long-term, hybrid contract opportunity in Seattle, WA. We are also only able to work W2 for this role with the client.

TOP SKILLS

Software Development Engineer who has developed deeply technical systems on the backend.

Must have a firm foundation of data structures.

Must have experience working with large complex code bases.

Experience with data processing and streaming processing.

Experience debugging systems end-to-end.

Experience with multiple programming languages. Examples: Go, C++, Clojure, Java, Python, Scala, etc.

Experience working in an organization with a high standard of code.

Strong communication skills and extremely independent

Experience with or open to learning Scala and Spark.

Extremely strong technical acumen, and a natural/intellectual curiosity.

NICE TO HAVES:

Experience with functional languages

Experience with Spark and/or Scala

Experience with Cassandra

DAY TO DAY:

30%: investigating and debugging systems (Scala, Clojure) - deep investigations

30%: designing - writing design reviews, preparing for design reviews, and reviewing others' work

20%: implementing new code (writing code from scratch)

10%: Meetings, standups, etc.
