Software Engineer, Audio Applied Scientist - Remote Presence Responsibilities


  • Apply theories and principles of electrical engineering, machine learning, computer science, and algorithm development to design and build echo cancellation, noise suppression, audio codecs, spatial audio and more in real world products

  • Define and build new algorithms and add enhancements to existing algorithms to support human listening, machine listening, and other new experiences for Meta's consumer hardware devices

  • Identify areas of performance, quality and reliability improvement for audio quality across desktop, mobile and web endpoints

  • Deploy new technologies to our users across the Meta Family of Apps on mobile and desktop platforms


Minimum Qualifications


  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience.

  • 7+ years software development experience including DSP and audio algorithm development.

  • Demonstrated communication skills and experience working across disciplines to drive optimal solutions and supporting cross functional teams.

  • Experience with C or C++ and with scientific programming languages such as MATLAB, Python or similar.

  • Experience in any of the following areas: Small footprint ML, Echo cancellation, Noise reduction, Speech Intelligibility Enhancement, Speech and audio coding.


Preferred Qualifications


  • MS or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent.

  • Expertise in audio signal processing and auditory perception, both classical and machine learning techniques.

  • Proven track record of innovation as demonstrated by products shipped, publications and/or patents.

  • Experience with audio for real time communications
