Software Engineer, Front End/UIE Responsibilities


  • Develop, design, create, modify, and/or test mobile and desktop web software applications or systems.

  • Architect efficient, reusable, and scalable front-end systems that drive complex web applications.

  • Implement features and user interfaces to optimize performance of user-facing products.

  • Collaborate with Product Designers, Product Managers, and Software Engineers to deliver compelling user-facing products.

  • Identify and resolve performance and scalability issues.

  • Design technical features independently.

  • Work on problems of moderate scope where analysis of situations or data requires a review of a variety of factors.

  • Exercise judgement within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action.


Minimum Qualifications


  • Requires a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, Analytics, Mathematics, Physics, Applied Sciences, or a related field. Position also requires completion of a university-level course/research project/internship, or thesis in the following:

  • Building Web applications using JavaScript, including asynchronous programming, closures, types, classes and ES6

  • HTML or CSS including layout, specificity, cross browser compatibility, and accessibility

  • Browser APIs and optimizing front end performance of web-based applications

  • Front end development of mobile and desktop applications using React and React Native

  • In depth knowledge of javascript in front end development, such as object, event, rendering, and DOM

  • Debugging or benchmarking

  • Thorough testing of javascript based front end applications using methods such as snapshot or e2e testing

  • Building graphs from complex data to analyze trends and test hyptheses

  • Design technical features and systems with UML diagrams and documentation

  • Understand and follow the agile development process

  • Collaboration with cross functional teams to build a product

  • Building tools, linting, or formatting of the codebase

  • Backend development of creating GraphQL apis and basic CRUD Operations

  • Database operations and queries using SQL and GraphQL

  • Full stack knowledge of building web products from scratch

  • Server side language such as PHP.
