Software Engineer Responsibilities


  • Help build the next generation of systems behind Meta's products.

  • Create web and/or mobile applications that reach over two billion people.

  • Build high volume servers to support content.

  • Help build highly scalable performant solutions.

  • With solutions provided by a supervisor, utilize ability to apply them to production problems and contribute to architectural decisions.

  • Employ specialty knowledge across the following areas: data processing, programming languages, databases, networking, and operating systems.

  • Utilize knowledge of data base management system software, development environment software, object oriented development software, program testing software, operating system software, and various programming languages.

  • Utilize knowledge of computer hardware and software, including applications and programming, and of systems architecture and components, including networking and storage.


Minimum Qualifications


  • Requires a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or in a related field. Foreign equivalent accepted.

  • Requires completion of an undergraduate-level course, research project, or internship involving the following:

  • 1. Coding in C++, Java, and C#

  • 2. Building large-scale infrastructure applications

  • 3. Creating web applications using Python and PHP

  • 4. Relational databases and SQL

  • 5. Implementing web interfaces using JavaScript, HTML, and CSS

  • 6. Leveraging frameworks, using React

  • 7. Conducting design and code reviews

  • 8. Object-oriented software development

  • 9. Building maintainable and testable codes bases including API design and unit testing techniques

  • 10. Design scalable distributed systems with established partition tolerance, consistency, and availability guarantees, AND

  • 11. Building complex applications for iOS based products using Swift.
