Software Engineer, Product Responsibilities

• Develop, design, create, modify, or test software applications or systems for various products or software services.


• Develop strong understanding of relevant product area, codebase, or systems.


• Demonstrate proficiency in programming and software engineering.


• Use scientific approach to solve large, complex problems, leveraging strong understanding of product engineering foundations.


• Demonstrating ability to interpret data about products or systems & make recommendations for engineering or product direction based on those insights using strong foundation in mathematics.


• Produce high-quality code with good test coverage using modern abstractions and frameworks.


• May be assigned to specific group focused on product or infrastructure.


• Work on problems of moderate scope where analysis of situations or data requires review of variety of factors.


• Exercise judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action.


• Master internal development standards from developing to releasing code in order to take on tasks and projects with increasing levels of complexity.

Minimum Qualifications

• Requires a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, Analytics, Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, Applied Sciences, or a related field and two years of work experience in the job offered or in a computer-related occupation. Requires two years of experience in the following:


• 1. Coding in at least one of the following industry-standard languages: C, C++, Java, C#, or Python


• 2. Building large-scale server applications in Python, PHP, or Ruby


• 3. Relational databases and SQL


• 4. Building maintainable and testable code bases including API design and unit testing techniques


• 5. Data structures and algorithms


• 6. Building scalable data pipelines


• 7. Linux, UNIX, or other *nix-like OS including file manipulation and simple commands.
