Description:

SME AWS System Administrator. This role is to maintain, design and migrate an on prem production system to the cloud.

Mandatory Skills:
  1. • Demonstrated C2S/AWS skills.
  2. • Support or stand up a new environment in AWS and migrate the production system to it
  3. • Experience migrating applications / environments from on prem solutions to an AWS environment
  4. • Perform system integration, hardware and software installation, configuration and disposition of servers and workstations to support the architecture.
  5. • Architect, develop, design, integrate and maintain all computer applications, including specialized applications specific to the program's objectives.
  6. • Strong systems administration skills for Windows and Linux operating systems .
  7. • Competent with VMWare.
  8. • Experience patching large numbers or servers and workstations across network infrastructure.
  9. • Automation, monitoring, and scheduled task management across large scale networks.
  10. • Monitoring, troubleshooting, and resolving communication issues across network boundaries.
  11. • Building in redundancy and failover within network and application infrastructure.
  12. • Creating and configuring cloud compute, storage, and other cloud services in the system on AWS.
  13. • Knowledgeable in AWS CloudFormation scripts, CloudWatch, AWS console system administration to include operations and maintenance to include EC2, S3, Elastic Load Balancing, Auto-Scaling, and SNS.
  14. • Monitoring and renewing server certificates.
  15. • Maintaining network performance by performing network monitoring and analysis, and performance tuning; troubleshooting network problems.
  16. • Maintaining disaster recovery procedures and environment.
  17. • Supporting internal users if / when issues arise.
  18. • Familiarity with DevOps technologies.
  19. • Familiar with JIRA.
  20. • Knowledgeable with agile development practices.
  21. Required Education:
  22. B.S. Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Computer Systems Engineering OR equivalent combination of education and experience.


Optional Skills:
  1. • Familiar with AWS Lambda
  2. • Proficient in Python
