Description

As a Devices Test Engineer at Verily, you will work on one of our Medical devices programs and use your strong technical background to define test strategies and automation plans. You will organize testing processes, build test beds and infrastructure, and ensure the delivery of high quality, safe, and highly usable products into the hands of our users. You will work closely with product managers and software engineers to influence better software design, activate bug prevention strategies, inform testability, improve accessibility, and protect the privacy and security of our users. You will be responsible for ensuring compliance with the product development and the quality management system procedures for Verily products, while using your creativity to drive product excellence.

Responsibilities
  • Define and Implement robust test and maintenance strategy for our medical devices programs.
  • Work closely with product managers and engineering teams on test design and implementation and evaluate testability of new features.
  • Establish, improve and communicate test automation and coverage metrics. Create and champion efficient and compliant testing processes to scale testing coverage.
  • Build/Extend test automation infrastructure and add E2E tests (Device and Web).
  • Drive communications of test and product quality status to various levels of the organization, and consistently deliver accurate product quality snapshots with automated and manual test metrics for stakeholders.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5+ years of software system test engineering experience including Firmware and/or Web testing.
  • Excellent written, communication and interpersonal skills, with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Writing and running automation scripts using Python and summarizing results in the context of the system as a whole.
  • Experience with embedded connected devices, BLE, and mobile applications

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working in fast-paced startup environments and successfully working on multiple products simultaneously as test lead or the only test engineer on a complete software system.
  • Experience with API and/or Performance testing.
  • Passionate about testing, improving healthcare, and the future of connected devices technology.
  • Experience working as a test engineer completing verification and validation testing on a safety-critical regulated product (i.e. automotive, aviation, or med device).

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $109,000 - $155,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
