Insight Global is assisting a client with a identifying a Solar Wiring Quality Engineer for a direct hire opportunity in Chapel Hill, NC. This role does require 5 days onsite or traveling around the USA to worksites when not in the office. This engineer will play a vital role in ensuring the quality and reliability of solar wiring solutions, driving customer satisfaction, and contributing to the clean energy revolution. In this role, they will develop and implement quality assurance processes, conduct inspections and tests, and drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities:

* Develop and implement quality assurance processes and procedures to ensure compliance with industry standards (e.g., NEC, UL, IEC), customer requirements, and regulatory guidelines.

* Conduct inspections, audits, and tests throughout the manufacturing and installation process to verify product quality, performance, and safety.

* Review engineering designs, specifications, and documentation to identify potential quality issues or areas for improvement.

* Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, procurement, construction, and sales, to address quality-related concerns and implement corrective actions.

* Analyze data and metrics to monitor quality performance, identify trends, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

* Investigate non-conformances, customer complaints, and warranty claims to determine root causes and implement effective corrective and preventive actions.

* Develop and deliver training programs and workshops to educate employees on quality standards, procedures, and best practices.

* Participate in supplier qualification and evaluation activities to ensure the quality and reliability of materials, components, and services.

* Prepare quality reports, documentation, and presentations for internal and external stakeholders, including management, customers, and regulatory agencies.

* Stay informed about industry trends, emerging technologies, and regulatory requirements related to solar energy and quality management systems.

Required Skills & Experience
- Bachelor's degree, preferably in engineering or other technical majors
- Recent experience as a O&M Tech, quality control, quality assurance management, warranty, engineering, claims focus, or project management
- Strong Microsoft Excel, specifically with maintaining reports.
- Comfortable with travel 75% (Occasional weekend)
- Knowledge mechanical/electrical products

* Cable / wiring ideally

Nice to Have Skills & Experience
- Use devices such as 360 cameras, tools to check current of cables, used quality devices.
- Experience in solar energy systems, electrical wiring, and industry standards.
- Degree in quality engineering or quality management
