Job Title: Solution Architect (Data Mart Migration)

Overview

We are seeking an experienced Solution Architect to lead the migration of data marts from Oracle Exadata to Azure Databricks using Informatica IDMC. As a Solution Architect, you will play a critical role in designing and implementing the migration strategy, ensuring seamless data transfer, and optimizing performance in the new environment.

Responsibilities

• Data Modeling and Design :

• Collaborate with business stakeholders and technical teams to model the existing data mart for migration.
• Define the target architecture on Azure Databricks, considering scalability, security, and performance.

• Data Migration :

• Lead the migration process from Oracle Exadata to Azure Databricks using Informatica IDMC.
• Utilize Azure Data Factory (ADF) or other suitable tools to efficiently extract data from Oracle.
• Implement incremental data capture strategies to track changes in the source system.

• Code Migration :

• Convert existing ODI code to PySpark or Spark SQL.
• Leverage open-source Python for ETL workloads.
• Address complexities related to Oracle-specific features during code conversion.

• Job Orchestration :

• Design and implement job orchestration workflows for data processing.
• Ensure smooth execution of ETL jobs in the new environment.

• Performance Optimization :

• Optimize data pipeline performance by leveraging Azure Databricks capabilities.
• Monitor and fine-tune the system to meet performance requirements.

• Documentation and Training :

• Create detailed documentation for the migration process, including architectural diagrams, data flow, and code samples.
• Provide training to the technical team on Azure Databricks best practices.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Solution Architect, specifically in data migration projects from oracle to Azure.
• Strong expertise in Oracle Exadata, Azure Databricks, and Informatica IDMC.
• Proficiency in PL/SQL, PySpark, and Spark SQL.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Relevant certifications (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert) are a plus.

Salary and Other Compensation :

Applications will be accepted until 05/19/2024.

The annual salary for this position is between $110,000 - $170,000 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

This position is also eligible for Cognizant's discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant's applicable plans.
