The Sourcing/Procurement Manager will be responsible for leading, managing and optimizing the direct material strategic sourcing and supplier management processes for the business(es) they are responsible for. This includes managing the strategic relationship with existing suppliers, identifying and qualifying new suppliers as appropriate, leading efforts to improve supplier quality, service, pay terms, & inventory levels, driving material cost productivity, developing commodity strategies, and other initiatives to improve continuity of supply at competitive prices. This position will be a key member of the business leadership team and will provide the team with updates on supply issues, supply risks, performance vs budget, and forecasts on future commodity pricing.

Essential Functions

  • Develop comprehensive commodity strategies for assigned commodities that address quality, delivery, cost, inventory, sustainability and new product development goals with understanding of market risks and solutions to guarantee supply continuity
  • Determine capacity of suppliers, understand their ability to support the business unit's demand plan and drive actions to ensure service level goals are achieved

  • Review and analyze current cost/spend for commodities, identify cost reduction opportunities, generate RFQ's, lead negotiations, manage supplier transitions and collaborate with engineering on VA/VE projects to achieve annual cost savings objectives

  • Negotiate, develop and maintain favorable purchasing contracts, non-disclosure agreements and supplier stocking agreements that provide a competitive advantage to the company for assigned commodities

  • Oversee the management of supplier relationships in order to ensure that the organization receives maximum value in terms of price, quality, service, and reliability. Collaborate with suppliers and utilize lean tools to reduce lead-times and improve supplier performance

  • Foster team environment that develops strong business and professional relationships with key internal stakeholders and external partners

  • Gather and maintain industry and market intelligence relating to key direct materials.
  • Prepare reports, analysis, and presentation materials to support business reviews and other meetings as appropriate
  • Support the development of the Annual Operating Plan and subsequent financial forecasts

• Manage issues affected by market conditions and crisis situations as the need arises. Provide leadership and communication to appropriate interdepartmental personnel and suppliers to mitigate risk

Bachelor's degree

from an accredited university, preferably in engineering, chemistry, business, supply chain or related field. MBA or Master's degree is also strongly preferred.

Minimum 3-5 years experience in a global, industrial manufacturing environment with extensive knowledge in raw material sourcing, procurement processes and best practices.
