HDR is hiring a Southeast Region Environmental Leader to provide leadership and direction in the execution of strategy and initiatives for providing environmental services to a diversity of clients across the Southeastern U.S. With almost 100 professionals spread across 12 offices, our Southeast Region Environmental Science and Planning Business Class or Practice represents one of our most diverse and fastest growing teams of environmental professionals. This position can be based out of any of our offices in the Southeast and will require periodic travel across the region.

The Southeast Region Environmental Leader will be responsible to the HDR Environmental Sciences and Planning Director and the Regional Operations and Business Group leadership for developing and delivering environmental services across all our businesses and clients.

The Regional Environmental Cross Sector Leader is the direct interface with the Area Operations Managers, Business Group Leadership, and Market Sector and Cross Sector Directors and the entity responsible for operationalizing our delivery of environmental services into specific activities.

In this role, we will count on you to:

• Provide leadership and direction in the execution of strategy and initiatives for providing environmental services to our businesses and markets.

• Assist the Regional Operations Director and Area Operations Managers, and partner with regional and area management teams in directing development of new projects, markets, environmental services, financial metrics, and resource requirements.

• Support the growth and acquisition of experienced resources required to serve areas and markets within the region.

• Support regional and area management teams in operational strategies, plans and budgeting, key initiatives, communications, professional performance, quality, and safety as related to our environmental practice across the region.

• Drive team collaboration; implement initiatives; and assess resource requirements, workshare, and utilization.

• Partner with Market Sector Directors to foster and maintain client relationships and service levels, implement market strategies, and capture plans, and elevate our reputation for providing environmental services within the region.

• Assesses market conditions and provide recommendations on industry engagement.

• Develop and maintain a Regional Environmental Cross Sector Business Plan that aligns with business and market sector plans to maximize growth and implement a correct investment strategy for providing environmental services.

• Serve as Project Principal, Project Manager, or Pursuit Champion on large and/or complex projects or pursuits involving environmental services.

• Establish client relations and engage in pursuit, contract, and delivery meetings.

• Provide leadership and world-class understanding of technical issues and current professional practice approaches, and package environmental service expertise as client solutions.

• Champion professional development.

• Provide mentoring and work with client and project management teams to resolve issues and create a bridge between technical resources and market sector requirements.

PPreferred Qualifications:

• Industry-recognized reputation for professional accomplishment

• Understanding of environmental services as related to transportation, water, energy and industrial markets across the Southeastern U.S.

• Demonstrated knowledge and experience leading environmental review processe

• Strong business, relationship building and communication skill

• Proven marketing and business development skills in addition to industry relationship

• Minimum of 20 years of industry and management experience

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a Professional, Architecture, Engineering or closely related field
  • 10 years experience in related field
  • Maintains a professional or Engineering registration and has related technical experience
  • Experienced in development and management of diverse teams
  • Works cooperatively with other business class regional directors, operations managers, technical directors and marketing managers on business class efforts
  • Committed to quality, improvement and HDR values
  • An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must
