The United States Space Force (USSF) at Space Operations Command (SpOC) 19th Space Defense Squadron at Naval Support Facility Dahlgren is searching for a Space Operations Intelligence Analyst (NH-0312-03, GS 12/13 equivalent).
Description:
Are you looking for a great opportunity right outside of Washington DC with the Space Force, the 19 Space Defense Squadron is a new unit in the United States Space Force leading the way for innovation and federation in space to maintain freedom of action for the U.S., allied, and commercial partners. We are seeking professionals who will push the bounds of space domain awareness for the foundation of space defense. Applicant will be responsible for collecting, analyzing, interpreting, evaluating, and integrating complex data from multiple sources in assessing the relevance and significance of developments in assigned areas. Applicants need to be able to understand and assess foreign threat capabilities that may impact the unit. Must be willing to learn and comprehend the basics of orbital mechanics and astrodynamics in cislunar/xGEO space, understand the SDA mission, its role in joint operations, and the capabilities that make up the USSF SDA and SBM enterprise.
The ideal candidate should possess experience in intelligence-related research, analysis, collections and /or operations. This experience should have included intelligence analysis and/or production, intelligence collection and/or operations, counterintelligence, or threat support directly related to the position to be filled. This experience should demonstrate: Knowledge of intelligence processes, cycle and organizations; Knowledge of and/or ability to use research tools such as library holdings, photographs, statistics, graphics and maps; Knowledge of the systems, procedures and methods of analyzing, compiling, reporting and disseminating intelligence data; and/or Knowledge of organization(s) for and methods of collecting and analyzing intelligence data. Reports and conducts presentations/briefings for planning and implementation to supplement current and future operations. Provides status and advisory services to superiors on problems, issues, and projects in assigned program areas, and reports significant findings and recommendations to management in a timely manner.
Key Skills and Abilities:
1. Knowledge of the terminologies, methodologies, and research and analytical techniques as applies to highly complex assignments related to the SDA and SBM mission set.
2. Ability to show a capacity for creative thinking and original research, and have the confidence to function as a spokesperson for and an authority on activity positions in the intelligence community.
3. Knowledge of several intelligence collection methods and systems, their capabilities and limitations, and appropriate tasking methods.
4. Ability to communicate clearly, concisely, and with technical accuracy, both orally and in writing, as well as work in a professional manner with peers, management, contractors, academia, and other agencies.
5. Ability to use computer applications in support of planning, designing, analysis, and reporting.

- This is a drug testing designated position. The incumbent is subject to pre-employment drug testing as a condition of employment, and
participation in random drug testing. - Employee must be able to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret w/SCI clearance.
- Incumbents on this position may need to be removed from their military recall status if alternatives for filling the position during an emergency are not available.
- PCS and Incentives are not authorized.
