The Spartan Management Training Program (SMTP) is an eighteen (18) month, hands-on training program for recent college graduates who aspire to move into entry level HR positions within the hospitality industry. Through a combination of working within the various HR functions, shadowing operations to understand the organization, and performing entry-level leadership roles, SMTP participants will gain appreciation for multifaceted operations involved in the overall HR functions. Opportunities for a permanent position will be based on availability and performance of the SMTP participant. Experience may be provided in one or several of the following areas based on operational need and the SMTP participant's experience and interest - Recruitment, Onboarding, HR Support, and Operational HR. Job Functions (Items marked with an asterisk are essential functions of this position):
  • Execute recruitment activities in support of generating leads for part-time and seasonal positions across the Hershey Entertainment & Resorts.*
  • Support the Talent Acquisition Team as needed with staffing-related projects, college relations, and other recruitment activities as needed.*
  • Shadow Operational Roles to understand the organization and roles that we recruit.*
  • Build relationships with entire HR team and key operational stakeholders.*
  • Attend recruitment events including job fairs, presentations, and networking activities.*
  • Assist with the development of recruitment campaigns for target audiences, as well as create and coordinate implementation of recruitment plans to ensure desired staffing numbers are achieved throughout the year.*
  • Assist with the coordination of company-sponsored job fairs and contribute to ongoing employment brand awareness in local market.*
  • Assist with HR support tasks to gain a full understanding of the onboarding process.
  • Facilitate orientation sessions for new full-time, part-time, continuing employment, and International employees throughout the organization. Assist with other training classes as needed.*
  • Participate in meetings, training, and other learning opportunities. Perform other duties as assigned.
Basic Qualifications:
  • Must be a graduate of Milton Hershey School
  • Must have a valid Driver's License
  • Bachelor's degree
Knowledge, skills, and abilities:
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Proven employee/guest relations and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to multitask in fast fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to present professional image.
  • Ability to meet deadlines through effective time management and organizational skills.
