The Special Education Instruction & Accountability Coordinator is a licensed special education educator who is a member of the IEP team and is responsible for coordinating instruction and related services for the student. The SPED IAC provides direct compliance support to educators in assigned schools. The SPED IAC will coordinate the delivery of special education services and will be the primary contact for the parent/guardian.

Job Requirements

Grant-funded position.

Proven ability to assure compliance with procedural requirements and special education timelines. Demonstrated skills in developing data based goals and analyzing student data. Experience facilitating IEP meetings and writing IEPs. Experience assisting teachers with providing accommodations for students.

Proven ability conducting regular IEP audits to ensure compliance with federal and state law as well as District special education policies and procedures. Ability to chair IEP meetings. Excellent communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.

Master's Degree.

MA DESE Certification in Moderate or Severe Disabilities.
