Overview
Reporting to the General Manager, the Special Event Sales Manager will plan, implement, and manage special event sales for Snapdragon Stadium with a goal to maximize event bookings and revenue, and position Snapdragon Stadium as the premier location for private and special events in the San Diego market.
This role will pay a salary of $65,460 to $72,800 plus commission

Responsibilities
- Develop and execute sales & marketing plans to promote Snapdragon Stadium as a premier location for special and private events in the San Diego community with an emphasis on events that will generate rental income, food & beverage sales, or other income.
- Identify and approach new potential clients and groups.
- Research and follow current market and industry trends to increase the volume of events.
- Evaluate the potential business value of various events and clients.
- Create and maintain relationships with local business leaders and sponsor/venue partners to create a network of sales leads.
- Prepare written proposals and/or present to potential clients.
- Conduct tours of facility for potential licensees; answer questions and provide information regarding facility capabilities.
- Establish monthly, quarterly and annual sales goals and specific performance metrics aligned with business strategies and management of department budget.
- Carefully coordinate activities with event managers, culinary team, internal departments and external personnel to ensure special events occurring at Snapdragon Stadium are successful and client satisfaction is achieved and exceeded.
- Communicates with clients to resolve issues and inquiries; improves customer experience based on client feedback.
- Reports sales results and revenues on a regular basis and suggests improvements as needed to the General Manager.
- Assist with overall calendar management for the complex and other assigned duties.
- Maximize the use of event space through proper layering of events/meetings over same dates.
- Responsible for venue contract initiation, revision, and execution for event license agreements for all special events at Snapdragon Stadium.
- Responsible for financial reports post event.
- Travel to regional areas for networking events throughout the year in search of new business.
- Main contact for industry meeting professionals, San Diego Tourism partners and other special event organizers looking to do events at Snapdragon Stadium.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Management, Communications or closely related field supplemented by a minimum of 3-5+ years of progressively responsible experience in convention center / arena / stadium or hotel/resort group sales or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
- Demonstrated working knowledge and proficiency with sales performance metrics.
- Demonstrated ability to formulate creative and original special events in unique locations.
- Experience with customer relationship management (CRM) software preferred.
- Strong track record of building relationships and generating new business.
- Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
- Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely in the English language, both orally and in writing.
- Ability to communicate in Spanish is desired.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency with MS Office applications, Power Point, Google Analytics and Adobe Design applications. Prior experience with calendar management software is preferred.
- Ability to work nights, all events, weekends, events and holidays as required.
