Description

  • Provide customer service and appropriate student data to government agencies and the general public in need of student records, general enrollment procedures, notary services, attendance zone information and home schooling
  • Organizes and manages routine work activities, with an emphasis on prioritizing tasks and time
  • Research and analyze student record and departmental request
  • Process and maintain archival student records
  • Communicate routine daily information about project status to schools and departmental staff
  • Provide general information to callers regarding transcripts and diplomas
  • Greet office visitors, direct them to appropriate personnel or offices, and/or provide requested services
  • Assist with enrollment and statistical procedures
  • Attend and assist with scheduled department workshops and staff development
  • Maintain confidentiality of information in regard to documents and open record request
  • Assist PEIMS and LEP department in obtaining student records for audit
  • Provide hands-on assistance to schools with cumulative record training and maintenance
  • Conduct Student Record Maintenance staff development training
  • Provide support to schools with TREx
  • Filing and standing for several hours is a major key function of this position
  • Performs all other related duties as assigned
  • Ability to communicate in Spanish preferred


Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent and two years training equivalent to two years of technical education and/or associate degree
  • Two years of directly related work experience preferred
  • Knowledge of Student Information System and personal computer applications
  • Ability to operate office equipment as required
  • Knowledge of District Organizations, operations and administrative policies
  • Outstanding phone skills
  • Skills in meeting the public, school personnel, parents, DISD executives and other professionals
