Job Description:

Plans, schedules and monitors the efficient movement of material from receiving or the warehouse to production. Develops raw material requirements and scheduling requirements from engineering specifications and production schedules and coordinates material movement with purchasing, warehouse, and production. Utilizes Material Requirements Planning (MRP) systems. May negotiate lead times with suppliers and manage schedules for timely delivery. May interpret laws, rules and regulations regarding shipping and prepares applications for export/import control certifications and licenses.

Essential Functions:
  • Plan, prepare, and coordinate material plans in accordance with the division business plan and based on manufacturing capacity and supplier capabilities to meet production requirements.
  • Develop new material plans (and its data capture and ERP population) for new internal products or new products absorbed from other L3H Divisions.
  • Develop and maintain effective change control of engineering activities for new and existing products for material requirements.
  • Responsible to perform and report status for Sales, Inventory and Operations Planning (SIOP) meetings on a regular basis.
  • Coordinate with other departments to ensure material requirements data has been appropriately completed for customer orders from order entry through shipping.
  • Review MRP output to ensure accuracy of requirements.
  • Review and track confirm planned production orders and confirm planned purchasing requirements based upon production capacity, inventory and other MRP system controls.
  • Ensure that MRP data is maintained for products assigned (i.e., material attributes, yield rates, scrap rates, planner codes, lead-times, etc.).
  • Develop reports with the utilization of ERP/MRP systems to monitor performance, identify implication of schedule variances and suggest appropriate work-around recovery plans. Develop time phased expenditure plans.
  • Review variance analysis\\status to critical path for assigned work packages. Identify appropriate corrective action.
  • Support and measure configuration change board meetings for assigned products.
  • Support and work with operations, program management, contracts, engineering, quality, purchasing, and stockroom to establish/maintain schedules, data accuracy and ETCs which meet\\exceed customer requirements.
  • Measure and monitor the timely generation and release kits to the stockroom for production requirements.
  • Expedite material requirements with Purchasing.
  • Maintaining communications of status of work, problems encountered and solutions to such problems.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience or 2 years post-Secondary/ Associates Degree and a minimum of 8 years of prior related experience. Graduate Degree or equivalent with 2 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of prior related experience.

Preferred Additional Skills:
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Suite, specifically use of Excel (VLOOKUP, PivotTables)
  • Advanced skills in organization, multi-tasking and attention to detail.
  • Experience within the electronics manufacturing for Aerospace & Defense (A&D) industry.
  • Prior experience utilizing an ERP\\MRP system for make-to-order requirements.
  • Experience with multi-level BOMs and external manufacturing.
  • Previous experience in a position requiring data analysis skills.
  • Experience in Configuration management.
