NOTE: Full time position, 40 hours/week will include weekends
Modes of Work
Positions that are eligible for hybrid or mobile/remote work mode are at the discretion of the hiring department. Work agreements are reviewed annually at a minimum and are subject to change at any time, and for any reason, throughout the course of employment. Learn more about the work modes .

Background Screening

Responsibilities*
Speech-Language Pathologist for acute care services.
- Evaluation and management of adults with communication and swallowing disorders in an academic university hospital acute care setting
- Opportunities for increasingly complex diagnostic work, including completion of outpatient videofluoroscopic swallow studies; FEES and clinical swallow evaluations.
- Documentation of clinical findings, adhering to regulatory agency and insurance requirements
- Education of patients and families regarding communication and swallowing disorders
Required Qualifications*
- M.A. or M.S. in Speech-Language Pathology
- ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence
- State of Michigan licensure
- Progressively complex experience with the assessment and treatment of speech, language, voice, resonance, cognitive-communicative and swallowing disorders.
- Excellent or strong communication skills, verbal and written
- Ability to work effectively with medical and allied health professionals within an interdisciplinary team
- Not a clinical fellowship year (CFY) position
- Full-time position with benefits; including professional development funding
Desired Qualifications*
- Previous experience in an acute care hospital
- Ability to perform and interpret videofluoroscopic swallowing studies
