Inpatient/Outpatient Adult Speech Language Pathology Fellow to work at MGH Main Campus
We are seeking a mature, innovative, curious, and enthusiastic SLP Clinical Fellow (CF) with knowledge and experience in adult neurological disorders. The successful candidate will work in a team of other experienced SLPs, conduct diagnostic evaluations, develop functional goals, support intra-operative testing/monitoring for adults undergoing awake craniotomy for brain tumor diagnoses, and provide prehabilitative/rehabilitative treatment to adults with a variety of neurologically based speech, language and cognitive disorders across a spectrum of medical case complexity.
This clinical fellowship opportunity is for 1 year.
Prior professional experience with adults in a medical setting is preferred. This is a 40-hour/week position with both in-person and telepractice components. Workday start times may vary based on clinical caseload, with some early mornings required (arrived by 7am). Occasional Saturday on-call support may be required (no more than 1x/month).
Qualifications
Required:
Master's degree in Speech Language Pathology
At least 6 months of relevant clinical experience working with a neurologic patient population
Strong spoken and written communication skills in English
Preferred:
Experience in working within and across collaborative, interprofessional teams
A strong understanding of neuroanatomy, physiology, and evidence-based neurorehabilitation strategies
Cultural and/or linguistic diversity
Experience in both inpatient and outpatient clinical care settings
Experience in peri-operative and intra-operative settings for awake craniotomy
