Position: Speech Language Pathologist

Reports to: Rehabilitation Director

Type: Per Diem

Job Description:

Providing quality resident care to empower residents to reach and maintain the highest level of functional ability. As their Speech Language Pathologist, you will play a pivotal role in enhancing residents functional abilities while ensuring a supportive environment.

Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with the Rehabilitation Director to assess, develop, organize, and implement individualized resident care programs using specialized Speech Therapy (ST) procedures.
  • Efficiently manage caseload, identifying residents through screening processes, and scheduling individual or group treatments while meeting productivity expectations.
  • Educate residents, families, and caregivers on Speech Therapy techniques for continuation post-discharge.
  • Maintain adherence to PPS guidelines, ensuring accurate documentation and billing procedures.
  • Provide supervision and education for therapy technicians and affiliated students under the guidance of the Rehabilitation Director.
  • Ensure a safe and hygienic environment, and comply with ethical, regulatory, and professional standards.


Residents' Rights Functions:
  • Uphold resident confidentiality and dignity, fostering self-worth through compassionate care.
  • Knowledgeably adhere to Residents' Bill of Rights and promptly report grievances or complaints to appropriate authorities.
  • Immediately report any incidents involving rehab staff to RVP.


Physical Requirements:
  • Good physical and mental health with the ability to perform tasks requiring lifting, fine hand-eye coordination, and acute hearing.
  • Maintain visual and hearing acuity to monitor residents' conditions and respond promptly to calls.
  • Effectively communicate with residents, families, staff, and medical personnel.


Other Job Functions:
  • Pursue continuous professional development by participating in continuing education, seminars, and training programs.
  • Attend all mandatory in-services to stay updated on industry best practices and regulations.


Qualifications:
  • Graduate of an accredited SLP Program with CCC or in CFY, eligible for licensure
  • Prior experience in long-term care is preferred
