Pay Range
Pay Range: $18.33 - $24.76 Hourly
The referenced pay range represents the minimum and maximum compensation for this job. Responsibilities
GENERAL PURPOSE:
Works as part of an interdisciplinary team and assigned a NYS licensed and ASHA certified Speech-Language Pathologist clinical supervisor who provides guidance to satisfy requirements for both licensure and completion of the ASHA Clinical Fellowship (CFY).
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Performs and interprets speech and language evaluations for both patients with communicative disorders and those requiring more specialized care, such as patients with dysphagia, laryngectomy and aphasia.
- Plans and provides speech and language therapy and intervention based on evaluation results. Develops and initiates treatment programs for more complex patients including Plans of Care.
- Provides counseling, education, and guidance to patients and their families regarding disorder(s). Adapts existing resources to meet patient and caregiver needs.
- Maintains comprehensive electronic medical records (EMR) for each patient. Communicates through written reports, flowsheet documentation, and other EMR specific tools.
- Recommends changes in standard departmental practices.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited training institution required
- or equivalent combination of education and experience required
- Ability to operate standard office machines and office computer programs (e.g. Microsoft Word, Powerpoint) required
- Ability to learn computer programs related to electronic medical records and charge capture/schedule systems required
- Basic operating knowledge of standard diagnostic and rehabilitative procedures and related test equipment/materials used in Speech Pathology required
- Ability to pass required mandatory in-service and staff competency training, which may include FIM administration. required
- NYS interim licensure in Speech-Language Pathology, or proven eligibility for licensure upon hire required
