Position Summary:
Under the supervision of the department manager, the Supervisor plans, organizes, implements, and evaluates activities of personnel, coordinates shift activities of the department, as well with other departments in the medical center to provide skilled services that are dependable, cost effective and promptly delivered.

Driver's License upon hire.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Minimum one (1) year of experience within the industrial maintenance field/Healthcare.

Essential Functions:
  • Assign staff activities to maximize efficiencies.
  • Communicate priorities to assigned staff on a daily basis.
  • Keeps department manager informed of any actual or potential problem areas.
  • Ensure proper completion of preventative and corrective maintenance activities to meet the needs of the patient, the hospital, as well as all department requirements.
  • Communicate & coordinate maintenance activities with leadership of departments involved.
  • Regularly displays a high level of technical knowledge of the physical plant of the hospital as well as the operational needs of hospital activities.
  • Efficiently and effectively performs duties and assists staff in development of their skills to do the same.
  • Assists Manager in execution of performance reviews and discipline, as well as input on hiring and dismissal.
  • Displays effective leadership skills in promoting & supporting the missions & values of the organization along with the departmental goals & holds staff accountable for same.
  • Primary responsibility is to coordinate preventative and corrective maintenance required for the buildings, effectively communicating those activities at all times.
  • Evaluates problems and performs appropriate solutions or identifies options for corrective action.
  • Provide support on energy management issues, along with compliance of OSHA, IDPH, JCAHO, and other code enforcement agencies.
  • Assists as needed on grounds work such as snow removal, trash pick-up, mowing or other department requirements.
  • Provides continuous input on the status of the building in regards to potential code/safety issues.
  • Routinely identifies areas for improvement or in need of repair and proceeds with appropriate actions through UPH policies and procedures.
  • Provides feedback directly to customers to inform them of equipment status and work order completion.
  • Conducts daily inspection of assigned areas and dispatches staff to address/correct any issues that were viewed or reported.
  • Conducts weekly tours of assigned areas with occupants/representative to communicate status and receive feedback on work being done.
