THE IMPACT YOU CAN HAVE:

The Event Planning Analyst plays a pivotal role in supporting Ulta Beauty's events team, merchant team, and brand partners by identifying short-term and long-term sales initiatives aligned with corporate marketing, merchandising, brand launches, and event opportunities. This position involves analyzing data to inform strategic decisions, planning future events based on trends, and partnering with merchandising, planning, and inventory teams. The Event Planning Analyst also manages event data to help operations, merchandising, and marketing leadership make decisions on sales-driving and event strategic focuses. Acting as a liaison between various departments and brand partners, this role is instrumental in fostering brand and cross-functional relationships throughout the organization.

YOU'LL ACCOMPLISH THESE GOALS BY:

PERFORMANCE
  • Analyzes event data to make informed business suggestions and influence strategic initiatives.
  • This individual will develop processes and analytics that will influence event strategies and improve our eventing and brand partnership processes using data to make decisions.
  • Supports the development and execution of event strategies aligned with sales goals and objectives, providing insights to operations, merchandising, and marketing leadership.
  • Develops and utilizes data to support the event strategy including brand launches and marketing initiatives, to optimize event performance and opportunities.
  • Tracks and reports event sales performance metrics, including conversion, loyalty, average ticket, and units per transaction, amongst other, providing actionable insights to leadership.
  • Collaborates with cross-functional teams to develop reporting, launch new initiatives, and analyze performance, leveraging event data to inform decisions
  • Collaborates with the merchant team, brand partners, and cross-functional teams to drive in-store event performance, providing data-driven insights to support decision-making.
  • Serves as a liaison between the brand field team and Ulta Beauty field team, facilitating communication and sharing event data insights.
  • Supports leadership development by encouraging a culture of growth and accountability, providing training on event data analysis and interpretation.
  • Leads the onboarding of new team members on event planning resources, analytics processes, and the utilization of event data.
  • Identifies and prioritizes operational system and process improvement opportunities to enhance store standards and operational efficiency, utilizing event data to inform process changes.
  • Works closely with merchants and brands to define strategies, refine data outputs, and translate data into visual communicative presentations.
  • Creates and maintains detailed records and calendars for all events, adapting swiftly to changing environments, and providing insights on event performance.
  • Develops tools and resources to support event planning and analytics processes, incorporating data analysis capabilities.
  • Takes complex processes and ideas and translates them into simple digestible documentation for ops, brands, and merchants specific to in-store events and brand support.
  • Supports in managing ongoing communication with stores and field leadership to improve event performance and processes by sharing event insights.
  • Collects and analyzes competitive information to influence continued performance, utilizing event data to benchmark against competitors and identify opportunities.

THE ESSENTIALS FOR SUCCESS:

  • Previous business analytics experience in retail or at a beauty/wellness brand.
  • Preferred experience in BI, systems administration, process improvement, financial analysis
  • Capability to work cross functionally with IT to assist in the translation of technical concepts into non-technical terms.
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, business, (or related field), or relevant professional experience.
  • 5 years of experience in event planning, analytics, or related fields, specialty retail or brand experience preferred.
  • Strong strategic mindset, with critical reasoning and qualitative analysis experience (Power BI, Excel).
  • Proven organizational skills with the analytical ability to problem-solve, multi-task, and prioritize effectively.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Self-starter able to successfully achieve departmental objectives with minimal guidance.
  • Comfortable working independently and in a collaborative, cross-functional manner.
  • Able to influence and drive accountability among associates across multiple departments.
  • Able to manage multiple projects/multiple presentation deadlines at one time.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal.
  • Able to develop presentation materials for communicating strategies to key stakeholders.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication (written and verbal) with ability to communicate to sr. leadership.
  • Enthusiastic, persistent, action-oriented, and a strong sense of accountability.
  • Energy, enthusiasm, and drive to continuously and proactively manage a heavy workload.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform in a deadline-driven and fast-paced environment.
  • Willingness to travel, including overnight stays up to 15% or as required.
  • Flexibility to work weekends and evenings as needed.
