The Opportunity

Reporting to the Manager, Broadcast System Integration, The Sr. Broadcast Engineer serves as an on-location, Engineer in Charge (EIC) for the remote production team. You will focus on applying knowledge to complete work independently, maintains the technical infrastructure, transfers knowledge to others and acts as a resource on procedures and plans for the operation environment. You will provide first and second level troubleshooting, technical and operational support. Also, you will solve unique problems, while applying knowledge from existing precedents and procedures to develop permanent workarounds. You will providing support and all studio and remote broadcast systems (video routers, audio mixers, cameras, robotics, switchers, intercom, etc.) This role will be onsite in St. Petersburg, FL.

Your Impact
  • Broadcast Support - Maintain the health and quality of all outbound transmission/streaming & inbound returns. Assist external customers with broadcast troubleshooting.
  • Production/End-user Support - Perform troubleshooting for advanced technical or operational issues with end-users relating to the live broadcast, remote production, pre-production or external customers.
  • Process Improvements - Create standard operating procedures relating to the broadcast/ production.
  • Other Responsibilities, and Activities as Assigned. Including Subject Matter Expert (SME) roles on Systems.

What You Bring
  • Technical degree or Military training in a related field along with directly related experience required.
  • 8 years of Broadcast Engineering experience in a television broadcast environment.
  • Demonstrated experience troubleshooting broadcast equipment and systems.
  • Experience with Network Operations systems including automation, server play out, graphics, switching and routing.
  • Overall knowledge of the television production processes broadcast operations and technical production requirements.
  • Experience with broadcast related equipment including still store, clip playout, graphics systems, cameras and related robotics, switchers, routers, wireless and hardwired intercom, wireless IFBs and microphones.
  • Can explain technical issues to all level of users.
  • Ability to work with different personalities and take constructive criticism well.
  • Ability to travel to remote broadcast locations.
