Sr. Business Intelligence Developer

Summary:

The Senior Business Intelligence Developer reports to a Data Trust Analytic Team Leader or other data governance leadership and leads data analytics, performance measures, data collection, reporting, visualization, and dissemination. This role specializes in complex IT solutions to solve organizational analytic challenges, involving developing BI solutions, processing large data sets, and collaborating with professionals. Responsibilities also include researching and planning analytic solutions, maintaining BI tools, problem-solving, and ensuring effective BI application use for decision-making. Additionally, they collaborate with analytic teams and data engineers, plan new data architecture, suggest process improvements, manage custom app development, and strategize scalable services for visualization tools and infrastructure design.

Education:
  • Bachelors degree required.
  • Masters degree strongly preferred.

Required Licensure Certification, etc.:
  • EDW internal certification required within 6 months.
  • Epic Caboodle or Clarity Certification required.

Work Experience:
  • Requires minimum of 7+ years of progressive experience in healthcare IT, analytics, software development or data management.
  • Experience with Business intelligence development tools such as Tableau and PowerBI and programming tools such as R, Python, and SQL.
  • Requires demonstrated experience in project management or management and experience working with external vendors.
  • Bonus knowledge of US News and World Report Hospital Ranking

Knowledge:
The ideal candidate for this role must have a deep understanding of healthcare and hospital business operations, along with expertise in the interplay between business processes and Information Systems applications. They should possess thorough knowledge of data warehouse principles, database development, and Business Intelligence design techniques such as change data capture and optimization. Proficiency in SQL programming and database technologies is essential, as well as advanced knowledge of medical terminology and clinical informatics to effectively communicate technical approaches to clinical data needs throughout the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
