Sr Business Intelligence Eng., Automated Inventory Management

Amazon is looking for a Sr Business Intelligence Engineer to help build next generation metrics and drive business analytics for AIM. Our team owns WW availability and inventory business outcomes. As a Business Intelligence Engineer, you will be responsible for defining and developing metrics for new products, develop data visualization and write business narratives. You will own the development of key business metrics while continuing to raise the bar for creating scalable, efficient, and automated processes for large-scale data analysis.
This is a high-visibility cross-functional role where you will work collaboratively with Data Engineers, Scientists, Economists, PMTs, Directors and business partners across functions. As part of the growing and fast paced business program, you will have freedom to innovate and deliver impact on customer experience.
This position requires excellent statistical and analytical abilities, deep knowledge of business intelligence solutions, familiarity with data engineering and data science practices. The successful candidate will be a self-starter comfortable with ambiguity, possess a strong attention to detail, and able to collaborate with customers to understand and transform business problems into requirements and deliverables.

Key job responsibilities
- Write expert-level SQL that extracts actionable insights from some of the world's largest datasets
- Create visualizations using AWS Quicksight, Tableau
- Identify the appropriate BI solution. Fluency in python coding.
- Recognize and adopt best practices in reporting and analysis: data integrity, version control, validation, and documentation
- Dive deep to help drive key business decisions through data insights and improve a wide range of internal products
- Own the design and development of automated solutions for recurrent reporting
- Invent new ways to explore our data and work with Scientists and Product Managers to identify opportunities and transform business problems into defined data and reporting requirements
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 5+ years of SQL experience
- 5+ years of professional or military experience
- Experience programming to extract, transform and clean large (multi-TB) data sets
- Experience in scripting for automation (e.g. Python) and advanced SQL skills.
- Experience with AWS technologies
- Experience with theory and practice of information retrieval, data science, machine learning and data mining
- Experience with theory and practice of design of experiments and statistical analysis of results
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience working directly with business stakeholders to translate between data and business needs
- Experience managing, analyzing and communicating results to senior leadership

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $117,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $202,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
