Salary Range: $107,914/yr - $137,653/yr

Location: Ada, MI (Hybrid)*

*Note: You must be able to report to the Ada, MI headquarters at least 3 days per week

What We're Looking For:

We are seeking an experienced Chemical Engineer to play a pivotal role in leading the design and development of various product formats, such as tablets, capsules, soft gels, and powders. Your contribution will be instrumental in our Engineering team's mission to develop nutritional dosage forms on an accelerated timeline that meets strict quality and manufacturability guidelines. To achieve this, you will collaborate with cross-functional peers, including Clinical Investigators, Formulators, Technical Regulatory, Quality, Packaging Engineers, and Manufacturing staff.

Your primary focus will be to design, develop, and validate new or revised manufacturing processes for products, considering the challenges of transitioning a product from research to manufacturing. As part of this, you will have the exciting opportunity to research, design, and develop product format innovations, including new processing technologies, equipment, and manufacturing techniques. Your proficiency in managing product requirements and technical risk will be key in maintaining project budgets and launch schedules. Your knowledge and expertise will also be valuable in providing mentoring and coaching on technical programs and projects.

This role is required to be in the Ada, MI offices on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays .

Required qualifications:
  • Prior experience in Chemical Engineering is required, plus the following education:
    • Bachelor's Degree plus 6 years of experience
    • Master's of Science plus 3 years of experience
    • PhD plus 1 year of experience
  • Prior experience in product development and manufacturing process engineering within Nutrition, Over-The-Counter (OTC), Pharmaceuticals, or Food consumable products industries


Skills to be successful in the role:
  • Ability to self-manage multiple priorities, projects and stakeholders
  • High level of comfort working in business/finance computer systems, analytical software, databases, and applications, including use of typical office suite software packages
  • Applying scientific research principles and experimental design to create and evaluate products and processes
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to troubleshoot challenges, root cause investigation, and issue resolution.
  • Ability to diagnose and solve problems quickly
  • High level of comfort presenting to and communicating with team members from all levels of the Amway organization.
  • Industry awareness with knowledge of trends, suppliers, and innovation
