Sr. Construction Manager

As a Construction Manager, you will be playing a critical role in expanding high-tech manufacturing facilities and production lines in Sparks, NV. You will have opportunity to manage continuously evolving exciting projects with contracting strategies involving both Tesla trades and subcontractors, while closely collaborating with infrastructure engineering, procurement, manufacturing engineering, project controls, commissioning, quality, end users, and executive teams. The ideal candidate for this role will have in-depth experience building high-tech mega projects and be comfortable leading and inspiring large teams.



Responsibilities

• Develop project scopes for execution across Electrical, Controls, Mechanical, Process, Life Safety, Civil, and Architectural work
• Implement innovative plans to reduce budget and/or condense schedule, and present them to executive leaders
• Lead construction and startup systems, review designs for constructability, and quickly resolve technical barriers
• Collaborate with procurement to create biddable work packages and verify contractor bids against estimates
• Coordinate logistics and interface with engineering, construction, contracts, and commissioning teams
• Develop templates and standards for future projects while ensuring high-quality engineering drawings and field installations
• Continuously improve project plans, focusing on efficiency, quality, and communication

Requirements

• Degree in Construction, Engineering or Technical Field and/or evidence of exceptional experience
• At least 1-2 years of experience leading work and/or construction teams for mega and high tech projects
• Excellent written and verbal communication
• High proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• Willingness to spend a high percentage of time in the field and to get hands dirty as needed to complete objectives or find the correct information
• Ability to work within a high-performance, cross-functional organization with extremely tight timelines and aggressive goals
• Willingness to travel as needed
