Sr. Mgr. DevOps Engineer

We are seeking a highly motivated Sr. Mgr. DevOps Engineer to join the Raytheon Technologies Enterprise Data Services team. Working very closely with other disciplines you will play an active role in designing, building and deploying a large scale machine learning platform to support aerospace use cases. We are looking for solid DevOps engineers who have some experience with distributed compute and large scale data frameworks. Our Platform Team builds tools used by data scientists that support vital segments of the company. Some projects include: predicting part failures on the industrial products we build (from jet engines to radar units to compressors used in space), project manufacturing demand, or models to help with airplane fleet management. This role requires a willingness to dive into complex problems to help the team find elegant solutions.

Required Skills:

DevOps and Automation Skills backed by strong designing and implementation experience for highly scaling and available computing environments

Strong experience with hybrid (virtualized and/or on-premises) infrastructure and enterprise applications

Strong skills and experience in enabling developer experience through CI/CD pipelines and automation including automating security and QA automation in CI/CD. Experience implementing metrics, KPI and usage dashboards for continuous feedback in CI/CD)

Strong implementation experience with AWS cloud architecture (Azure a plus)

Strong experience scripting infrastructure architecture using Terraform and Ansible.

Key Technologies:

AWS ( Azure a plus)

Terraform and Ansible

Jenkins or equivalent CI/CD tool

Python or other development/scripting automation language

Active Directory, SAML, OAuth, OpenID and other strong authentication technologies

CI/CD Metrics and Monitoring technologies such as Prometheus, Grafana, ElasticSearch, Kibana, DataDog, etc.

Docker, Packer, and Kubernetes (OpenShift a plus)

Deliverables:

Work with Tech Leads, Solution Architects and QA Engineers to develop solution architecture for projects based on requirements and existing service catalog

Architectures that are scalable, resilient, cost effective and performant.

Script Provisioning using Terraform and Configuration using Ansible to automate creation of DEV, QA and PROD environments in AWS GovCloud

Create CI/CD pipeline adhering to DX Engineering Standards

Contribute to maturing the discipline of DevOps to deliver excellent digital products fast, stable, scalable and secure.

Education:

  • Typically requires a university degree or equivalent experience and minimum 10 years prior relevant experience or an advanced degree in a related field and minimum 7 years experience.
