Technical Summary:

The Senior Director position is a strategic leadership role responsible for shaping and overseeing KP's enterprise's cybersecurity architecture. This individual plays a critical role in ensuring the security and resilience of KP's digital infrastructure, protecting sensitive data, and safeguarding against cyber threats. The Senior Director will lead a team of cybersecurity architects and engineers, driving the design and implementation of innovative security solutions.

Key responsibilities include developing and maintaining the enterprise-wide cybersecurity architecture and cloud strategies, aligning security initiatives with business objectives, assessing risk, and ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams, including IT, legal, compliance, and business units, to integrate security measures into all aspects of KP's global operations.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in cybersecurity, architecture design, and risk management. The candidate should possess strong experience in leading large-scale cybersecurity initiatives in complex, global environments. This position requires excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills to effectively manage cybersecurity risks and drive continuous improvement to KP's security posture.

Job Summary:

This senior management level employee is primarily responsible for providing guidance to develop and maintain the enterprise IT technology direction, providing overall direction to enterprise architects and business leaders in the development of IT architecture frameworks, and providing overall guidance in the communication of EA to the organization.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Directs the operations of multiple units and departments by identifying customer and operational needs; analyzing resources, costs, and forecasts and incorporating them into business plans; engaging strategic, cross-functional business units to champion and drive support for business plans and priorities; translating business strategy into actionable business requirements; obtaining and distributing resources; setting standards and measuring progress; anticipating and removing obstacles that impact performance; addressing performance gaps and implementing contingency plans accordingly; ensuring products and/or services meet customer requirements and expectations while aligning with organizational strategies; serving as a subject-matter expert and trusted source to executive leadership; and providing influence and consultation in the development of the larger organizational or business strategy.

  • Models and drives continuous learning and maintains a highly skilled and engaged workforce by aligning cross-functional resource plans with business objectives; overseeing the recruitment, selection, and development of talent; motivating and empowering teams; building organizational capacity and developing high potential employees for growth opportunities and advancement; staying current with industry trends, benchmarks, and best practices; providing guidance and leadership when difficult decisions need to be made; and ensuring performance management guidelines and expectations align with and drive business objectives and results.

  • Directs efforts to develop and maintain the enterprise IT technology direction by ensuring technology direction is leveraged properly to develop target state architecture and drive decision making.

  • Directs the development and management of strategic architectural direction.

  • Oversees the process for defining, communicating, and implementing architecture standards, guidelines, and statements of direction.

  • Guides research on industry standards and technologies to ensure business needs are met.

  • Ensures the establishment of architectural best practices that guide the design of technology solutions.

  • Directs the program for development and maintenance of enterprise-level IT architecture across the organization by shaping the architecture strategy within assigned domain(s).

  • Facilitates architects and business leaders in the definition of target state architectures aligned to technology direction across areas (for example, application, data, security, infrastructure).

  • Ensures architectural change requests or exceptions are managed appropriately.

  • Oversees the development of architecture designs in accordance with IT delivery processes and governance requirements.

  • Ensures processes are in place to drive the adoption of new technology which includes identifying organizational and financial impacts of proposed technology strategies.

  • Partners with IT and business senior leadership to influence technology and business investments.

  • Champions innovative technologies to improve productivity and drive new opportunities.

  • Provides guidance and direction to assigned domain(s) in the adoption of architecture practices by communicating and educating others throughout the organization, including senior leadership, on the architecture methodologies, governance, and standards.

  • Provides direction to ensure the continuous improvement of the companys architecture practices and drive consensus in adopting changes to these practices.

  • Directs the development and execution of an architecture communication plan to influence stakeholders inside and outside IT on the benefits of architecture practices.
Minimum Qualifications:

  • Minimum six (6) years supervisory experience.

  • Minimum four (4) years managing operating budgets and/or project financials.

  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science, CIS, Engineering, Business, or related technical field and Minimum twelve (12) years IT experience delivering technical solutions, including at least Minimum four (4) years in IT architecture. Additional equivalent work experience may be substituted for the degree requirement.

Additional Requirements:

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Three (3) years experience overseeing vendor relationships.
  • Five (5) years experience managing the architecture, design, and implementation of enterprise-scale, high volume, high availability systems.
  • Four (4) years of work experience in a role requiring interaction with executive leadership (e.g., Vice President level and above)
  • Two (2) years of cross-domain IT architecture experience.
  • Four (4) years experience establishing and documenting standards, guidelines, and best practices.
  • Three (3) years data architecture experience.
  • Three (3) years application architecture experience.
  • Three (3) years infrastructure architecture experience.
  • Three (3) years information security experience.
  • Three (3) years experience working with health systems.
  • Three (3) years experience working with large corporate or enterprise business systems.
