The Sr Director of Special Events is responsible for selling and executing various event spaces throughout Chase Stadium, Florida Blue Training Facilities, and Miami Freedom Park. The Sr Director will also oversee a team of sellers and will be responsible for meeting aggressive revenue targets each each. He/she will also focus on growing Heron Sports and Entertainment agency through events (games, markets, watch parties, etc.) in our stadium and other venues.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Plan and execute business plan and strategy related to the special events business at Chase Stadium, Florida Blue Training Facility and Miami Freedom Park and 3rd party venue.
  • Build out a pricing and event menu and consistently update to ensure accuracy and rates.
  • Network, research and cold call potential clients or intermediaries to create new business opportunities. Represent venue to potential clients conducting facility tours, answers questions regarding venue logistics and event operations.
  • Develop and grow client relationships.
  • Ensure that special events staff is adhering to company policy regarding rentals and special event execution. Be available to advise or make recommendations on any issues that may arise in the event process.
  • Utilize CRM platform to follow up with clients to maintain business relationship and ensure past events met client's expectations, place holds for future dates/show if event could become reoccurring.
  • Respond to inquiries on availability, pricing and locations. Negotiate deal terms and pricing.
  • Create event proposals and budgets and collect event deposits and contract signatures once event(s) are confirmed.
  • Works with legal to prepare and execute contracts and letter agreements once proposals are accepted.
  • Works with Events and Facilities team to execute events and to deliver the highest quality of customer service.
  • Create competitive pricing models that drive the maximum revenue possible for the venue. Track sales and devise plans to reach annual goals.
  • Develop strategic collateral materials, online marketing and other strategic tools to generate activity.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with all clients, tourism board, and potential future relationships.
  • Work with Event Managers to ensure the success of each event from start to finish.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited College or University required, major in Sports, Business or related field preferred.
  • 7+ years in selling event spaces, preferably at a high-profile arena/stadium.
  • Previous experience in event planning and execution with ability to manage and delegate tasks.
  • Extensive experience in sales with an ability to create and foster working relationships with clients.
  • Experience working with soccer promoters.
  • Self-monitored and possess a professional demeanor and has the ability to interact with all levels of the organization and outside contacts.
  • Exceptional customer service skills.
  • Must possess exceptional communication skills - both verbal and written.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office - specifically word, excel, powerpoint.
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines and work well under pressure with impeccable attention to detail.
  • Organized, can prioritize work activities effectively, uses time efficiently.
  • Bilingual in Spanish is a plus.
  • Must be able to work flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays as the event calendar requires.
