We are currently searching for an experienced digital/analog Electronics Engineer to design fire protection systems, controllers and detectors for new product introduction.

This role will be based in Raleigh, NC. Comprehensive relocation assistance is available.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Design, simulate, implement and test digital electronics using discrete circuits, CPLDs, FPGAs, DSPs, and microcontrollers, and generate firmware using VHDL, Verilog, C++.
  • Generate circuit design schematics, layouts, printed circuit boards (PCB) using CAD tools.
  • Model and simulate digital circuits using simulation tools such as MATAB/Simulink, Model-Sim, and FPGA vendor tools (Xilinx, Altera, etc.).
  • Design feed-forward and feedback control circuits and system/signal compensation electronics.
  • Design signal conditioning circuits, analog and digital amplifiers, analog and digital filters, modulation/demodulation circuits, oscillators, mixers, ADC/DAC converters, digital communication circuits, and power supplies to support advanced sensor/systems products design and research and development activities.
  • Implement hardware prototypes, breadboard designs, and test them in the lab environment.
  • Utilize understanding of digital design process including requirements generation, preliminary design, peer reviews, detailed design, test plan generation, and integration and test
  • Fiber-optic communication systems design, which includes working with network protocols and high-speed custom fiber optic transceiver modules.
  • Generate high quality specifications, reports, publications, and support proposals.
  • Work within a team of multidisciplinary engineers to complete projects on schedule within budget for a specific customer.
  • Have the ability to understand, capture, and document customer and user requirements and translate them to technical solutions.


Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelors degree and 5 years of relevant experience OR
  • Advance degree and 3 years of relevant experience OR
  • In absence of a degree, 9 years of relevant experience is required
  • Working knowledge of electrical test set-ups.
  • Strong hands-on digital/analog electrical engineering background.
  • Strong organizational skills and analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Knowledge of DO-160
  • Knowledge of RTCA DO-254
  • Advanced degree
  • Knowledge of AGILE working and Product owner accountabilities
