Apex is hiring for a Sr Electrical Estimator position- full time!
The Senior Estimator reports to the Estimating Manager or above and is responsible for managing and developing estimating activities for the company. The Senior Estimator may be responsible for obtaining, estimating, planning, coordinating and supporting work activities related to company projects. The Senior Estimator may also participate in marketing efforts to obtain new clients and projects for the organization. The Senior Estimator shall maintain appropriate relationships with customers, clients, and vendors. Responsibility & Authority
Management:
o Manages and perform the overall activities relating to estimates including coordinating engineering efforts, estimating costs, acquiring material quotes, and obtaining permit cost.
o Attends pre-bid meetings, job planning meetings, job progress meetings and provide estimates for projects as required.
o Reviews bid documents.
o Generates Bill of Materials and communicate to vendors and subcontractors.
o Generates proposals and communicate with customers and clients.
o Capable of managing, leading and mentoring (5-7) direct and indirect subordinates.
Timely and Accurate Reporting:
o Routinely meets with appropriate parties to verify that estimates are being developed in an accurate manner and reflect actual costs.
o Develops means to track and ensure that estimate system information is accurate and current
o Coordinates with project management team hand off meetings, to ensure that proper and accurate documentation is being provided in this turn over process and communicate this information in a timely manner.
o Performs take off and enter take off in company specific estimating software.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
•Ability to manage and review subcontractors and vendor's bids, proposals and Bill of Materials.
• Knowledgeable with construction documents, including the ability to read drawings, and specifications.
• Basic understanding of the construction process.
• Knowledge of MS Office Programs, and computer knowledge.
• Experience working with estimating software programs-SHAREPOINT, ACUBID, CONEST
• Knowledge of electrical design and engineering.
• Ability to provide layout and design of electrical systems and associated cost. ADA Requirements/Physical Requirements:
• Seven (7) years operational experience in estimating, with at least four (4) years of estimating large projects, and electrical trade experience. Scope & Accountability

Pay Range: 70-90K Annual + Benefits and PTO
