THE IMPACT YOU CAN HAVE:

Perform technical implementation and oversite of cyber security projects and personnel. Responsible for helping define, deliver, and maintain cyber security initiatives encompassing all facets of the business. Evaluate and research emerging security solutions, threats, and vulnerabilities to aid in the identification and prevention of security incidents. Manage and maintain all hardware, software, and systems used to protect the corporate infrastructure. Ensure all technical, cross-departmental, and team tasks are communicated effectively, executed efficiently and in accordance with Ulta policy and security leading practices.

YOU'LL ACCOMPLISH THESE GOALS BY:
  • Information Security - Contributes advice and guidance on security strategies to manage identified risks and ensure adoption and adherence to standards. Assesses and acts on vulnerability information and undertakes security risk assessments, business impact analysis and accreditation on complex information systems. Investigates major breaches of security, and recommends appropriate control improvements. Contributes to development of information security policy, standards and guidelines.
  • Research - Within given research goals, reviews and contributes to appropriate outline ideas for research, i.e. evaluation, development, demonstration and implementation. Leverages resources to gain an up-to-date knowledge of any relevant field. Reports on work carried out and may contribute sections of material of publication quality.
  • IT Service Management - Undertakes responsibility for the design, procurement, installation, upgrading, operation, control, maintenance (including storage and communication of data, voice, text, audio and images) and effective use of IT infrastructure components and assesses their performance. Provides technical management of an IT operation, ensuring that agreed service levels are met and all relevant procedures are adhered to. Undertakes maintenance and installation work. Contributes to activities that support operational problem identification and resolution. Provides appropriate status and other reports to specialists, users and managers. Reviews that operational procedures and working practices are fit for purpose and current.
  • Problem Management - Ensures that appropriate action is taken to anticipate, investigate and resolve problems in systems and services. Leads the development of problem solutions. Coordinates the implementation of agreed remedies and preventative measures. Evaluates patterns and trends.
  • Incident Management - Manages the prioritization and diagnosis of incidents according to agreed procedures. Investigates causes of incidents and seeks resolution. Manages the escalation of unresolved incidents. Coordinates recovery, following resolution of incidents. Manages the documentation and closure of resolved incidents according to agreed procedures.
  • Customer Service Support - Influences the strategic direction and takes responsibility for the full range of customer service functions, including organizational frameworks for complaints, service standards and operational agreements. Defines service levels, standards and the monitoring process for customer service or service desk staff. Provides technical leadership to operational staff and takes responsibility for business continuity and legal compliance.
  • Innovation - Manages, monitors, and seeks, opportunities, new methods, trends, capabilities and products to advance the organization. Clearly articulates, and formally reports potential benefits from both structural and incremental change. Promotes and motivates colleagues to share creative ideas and learn from failures.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Participates in the technical design, configuration, and support for Security and Business-related projects.
  • Identify risks to Ulta's security landscape and participate in annual risk assessment.
  • Supports security tools/solutions implemented by the team.
  • Develops automation for incident remediation.
  • Participates in Red/Blue/Purple team exercises
  • Recommends, develops, and tests new technology, develops solutions, and documentation for enterprise.
  • Conducts Root Cause Analysis and advises on solutions to implement corrective actions to address root causes (especially for complex or intermittent issues).
ESSENTIALS FOR SUCCESS:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, a related field, or applicable work experience
  • 3-5 years of IT security experience
  • GSEC GIAC CISSP (optional)
  • Strong Communications, customer focus and leadership skills required.
  • Strong team player with proven experience and ability to collaborate with security professionals.
  • Proven experience and ability to manage problem resolution of complex or intermittent issues in a multi-vendor, integrated enterprise environment.
  • Strong verbal, written and presentation skills with the ability to effectively interact with internal and external business partners.
  • Solid knowledge of industry best practices and technical systems.
  • Normal office demands, ability to lift a minimum of 25 pounds.
  • Off-Hours support including 24x7 on-call required.
