Responsibilities
GENERAL PURPOSE:
Manages grants management processes, including pre- and post-award budgets and grant finances from government grants, foundations and/or other grant-award bodies. Establishes grant accounts and monitors grant expenditures to ensure compliance with sponsor regulations. Will develop and produce routine summary financial reports (trend reports, etc.) required to monitor the financial health of research within the Department of Psychiatry. Responsible for preparing specific project budgets, plans, and trend reports as needed. Works closely with Psychiatry Finance and Research Leadership to initiate, develop, monitor and communicate finance policies and procedures within Psychiatry Research. Resolves complex problems or problems where precedent may not exist. May lead the work of small project teams and/or train junior staff.

Pay Range
Pay Range: $68,765 - $103,147 Annually
The referenced pay range represents the minimum and maximum compensation for this job. Individual annual salaries/hourly rates will be set within the job's compensation range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Oversees awarded budgets for research activities. Reviews monthly reconciliation reports, assesses trends and notes problems to be resolved, meets with PIs. Monitors and controls spending against all sponsored research grants with the use of UR based financial systems. Reviews and adjusts faculty and staff effort on grants based on actual effort and university effort reporting requirements. Processes JE's as needed to correct errors.
- Works with PIs on progress report submissions, extension requests, amendments and processing close out of clinical trials or grants. Liaises with ORPA and ORACS to ensure appropriate setup of Psychiatry awards
- Coordinates responses to out-of-award report and out-of-award expenditures. Provides analysis and guidance to other research administrators to reduce out-of-award expenditures.
- Manages workday approvals, p-card approvals and verifications, and other expenses for multiple grants and PIs. Ensures that purchases align with allowability of each grant, university processes, appropriate PI and
- Departmental approvals. Solves problems as needed to meet PI/project needs.
- Provides training and guidance to Research Administration and Faculty (both within and outside Psychiatry as projects require) on systems related to purchasing, award managements and JEs.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree required.
- Master's Degree preferred.
- 3 years of relevant experience required.
- Or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
- Previous grants administration experience and program management in higher education preferred.
- Leadership, excellent organizational skills and attention to detail required.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills required.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office software, including Outlook preferred.
- Familiarity with federal NIH-grant reporting mechanisms preferred.
- Access, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint preferred.
- Proficiency in database management and reporting software preferred.
- Experience in scientific grant/manuscript preparation assistance preferred.
- CLASP certification within 12 months required.
