Mitsubishi Chemical Methacrylates has a strong heritage of delivering excellence in the design, development and manufacture of some of the world's best known acrylic products. With a heritage from DuPont and ICI, Mitsubishi Chemical Methacrylates has been a leader in the application and development of acrylic technologies. The acquisition of Mitsubishi Chemical Methacrylates by Mitsubishi Rayon in 2009 further strengthened this position and established the combined companies as the global market leader in the manufacture and sales of acrylic monomers. Further integration of the Mitsubishi companies (Mitsubishi Rayon, Mitsubishi Plastics, and Mitsubishi Chemical) in 2017 created the new Mitsubishi Chemical Company (MCC) and firmly established the acrylic monomer business domain as the continued global leader in acrylic monomer, now backed by the strength of the 5 th largest chemical company in the world. Mitsubishi Chemical is the only producer that utilizes all three technical routes to acrylic monomer and the only producer utilizing C2 technology as a commercial option for MMA production. As a result, Mitsubishi Chemical is not only the largest but also the most technically advantaged acrylic monomer producer in the world.

Mitsubishi Chemical Methacrylates operates as the Americas Division of Mitsubishi Chemicals' acrylic monomer business, one of ten business domains crossing a diverse portfolio of businesses within the company. As the global leader, we manufacture and supply acrylic monomers that serve a broad base of downstream applications ranging from architectural and automotive coatings, to adhesives, to various acrylic sheet applications and specialty moldings. Our products have many applications and are found in many popular name brands of paints, adhesives, bath and spa products, and beyond.

What You Will Do...

• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of OSHA regulations and corporate EHS standards.
• Ensure the operation complies with all regulatory safety and health requirements.
• Implement and audit compliance with Company and Site EHS standards and policies
• Work closely with Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) team and manufacturing leaders to drive safety improvement programs, objectives, initiatives, and projects.
• Conduct routine safety walk throughs, safety audits and advise leadership on proper course of action relating to compliance with OSHA, corporate and site safety rules.
• Assist with job safety analysis, near miss and incident reporting/investigations, root cause analyses, management of change, job task assessment, and procedure review.
• Develop, schedule, and conduct safety training programs for new and current employees as well as resident contractors.
• Coordinate regular emergency preparedness and response drills and practice activities.
• Maintain required records including OSHA logs, safety metrics and communicate these as necessary to the site population.
• Manage the site industrial hygiene program including monitoring chemical and noise exposure to eliminate health risks to employees.

What You Will Have...

• Bachelor's degree in Safety/Environmental Science or related technical discipline and/or 5+ years of experience working in a chemical manufacturing environment.
• Significant involvement in safety work processes or in a direct role relating to EHS.
• Ability to work flexible work hours to accommodate the needs of the manufacturing organizational.
• Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written). Must be able to effectively communicate with people on all levels within the organization.
• Ability to enforce safety standards and requirements.
• Intermediate analytical and computer skills.
• Must be well organized, able to prioritize, and follow through in a timely manner.

Pay Transparency (complete highlighted sections)

• The salary range for this position is $95,000 - $100,000. Factors such as scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, job-related skills, internal peer equity, as well as market and business considerations may influence base pay offered. This salary will be subject to a geographic adjustment (according to a specific city and state), if an authorization is granted to work outside of the location listed in this posting.
