Position Summary
Under the direction of the Chief Human Resources Officer, the Senior Human Resources Coordinator is responsible for the direct supervision, day-to-day activities, and workflow of the Human Resources department. The role involves performing a wide variety of difficult, highly specialized, and technical human resource duties, as well as related work as required. The Senior Human Resources Coordinator plays a critical role in employee development and training, recruitment, collective bargaining support, and managing investigations of employee complaints.
Key Objectives
Supervise HR department staff and manage the workflow of daily HR activities.
Ensure accuracy of employee information in the ERP system.
Lead employee development and training programs aligned with district goals.
Design and implement a comprehensive recruitment program to attract and retain top talent.
Provide structured support throughout the collective bargaining process.
Manage and conduct investigations of employee complaints, including those related to harassment and discrimination.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
HR Coordination and Supervision
1. Supervise HR department staff and manage the workflow of all day-to-day HR activities.
2. Ensure the accuracy of employee information in the ERP system, including new hires, continuing employees, and terminations.
3. Assure employees meet all employment requirements (background checks, experience verification, testing, etc.).
4. Ensure all employee pay placement and pay items are up to date, accurate, and in accordance with contracts.
5. Prepare documentation for audits requiring HR information.
6. Coordinate all onboarding activities and information for new hires.
7. Oversee all leave banks and related forms, ensuring they align with association contracts as appropriate.
8. Prepare state-required reporting of HR information.
9. Maintain job descriptions and provide support for collective bargaining as needed.
10. Monitor and ensure compliance with federal and state labor laws and employment statutes specific to public education in Nevada.
11. Oversee implementation and monitoring of all district benefits programs.
12. Perform other related duties as assigned by the Chief Human Resources Officer.
Employee Development and Training
1. Lead the design and execution of comprehensive employee development and training programs.
2. Conduct needs assessments to tailor training content for various employee groups.
3. Develop career development pathways, including mentorship and coaching, to support employee growth and retention.
Recruitment
1. Design and implement a comprehensive recruitment program aimed at attracting and retaining top talent.
2. Leverage multiple sourcing strategies such as online job boards, social media, and partnerships with educational institutions.
3. Host virtual career fairs to broaden the reach of recruitment efforts.
4. Monitor key performance indicators (e.g., time-to-hire, candidate quality) to ensure ongoing improvement.

Collective Bargaining Support
1. Provide structured support throughout the collective bargaining process, including data collection, analysis, and strategy development.
2. Draft proposals and serve as a liaison between the negotiation team and other stakeholders.
3. Assist in finalizing agreements, developing communication plans, and monitoring compliance.
Investigation Responsibilities
1. Manage the intake and conduct investigations of employee complaints, including harassment and discrimination.
2. Establish a clear and confidential complaint intake process.
3. Ensure all complaints are documented, investigated, and resolved in accordance with district policies and legal standards.

Compensation: $64,464-$83,392 annually.

Required Skills & Experience
• Bachelors Degree in Human Resources or Business Administration preferred.
• Experience in Human Resources or a related field is highly valued. Candidates with diverse backgrounds in HR, business administration, or other relevant areas are encouraged to apply.
• Prior supervisory or leadership experience is beneficial but not mandatory. We are looking for candidates who can demonstrate strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
• Any combination of education, training, and experience that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform the essential functions of the job. This could include formal education, professional development, or hands-on experience in HR or related areas.
• A valid drivers license issued by the state of residence.
• Possession of an original Social Security Card.
• Professional HR certifications (e.g., PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP) are desirable but not required. Candidates who are actively pursuing certification or have equivalent experience are also encouraged to apply.
• Knowledge of Human Resources practices and principles: Including but not limited to recruitment, employee relations, benefits administration, and compliance with labor laws.
Familiarity with HR information systems (HRIS/ERP): Experience with managing employee data, generating reports, and ensuring data integrity.
