Sr. Infrastructure Engineer

A Virginia State Agency is seeking a skilled Senior Infrastructure Engineer who will be responsible for recommending and implementing enterprise standards and industry best practices in a Nutanix virtual environment and Azure. This role will work closely with other Infrastructure Engineers and IT and Security personnel to troubleshoot and maintain the company's infrastructure assets and will participate and contribute to their technology evaluations and roadmap discussion with third-party vendors. The Senior Infrastructure Engineer is expected to be a self-starter who is comfortable prioritizing and effectively managing their daily workload and will assist in designing, implementing, and supporting the agency's Infrastructure with a security and operational mindset. This role requires the ability to analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve highly complex issues. The pay for this position ranges from $70-$80 an hour, depending on the candidate's qualifications.

Required Skills & Experience
- Expert knowledge within Active Directory and Group Policy
- Extensive experience with data-center management, system security, and Nutanix hyper-converged infrastructure (Nutanix Self-Service or other automation platform
- Excellent written skills and desire to document network infrastructures

Experience with working in an ITIL or similar service operational environment

Strong experience with Microsoft DNS, DHCP and DFS.

Nice to Have Skills & Experience
- Extensive experience with networks, Microsoft Server, O365, Azure
- Excellent customer service and verbal communication skills
- Working knowledge of Red Hat Enterprise Linux, Rubrik or similar backup architecture
- Working knowledge of Public Key Infrastructure
- Working knowledge of Citrix-published applications and Xen architecture
