CLASS SUMMARY:

Responsible for maintenance, operational contract oversight, and management of CVG AA Baggage Handling System (BHS). Primary contact person, providing information, guidance, and evaluation for all contracts assigned by executive leadership. Supervise and manage the systems to provide guidance and support for employees and contractors engaged in the operation, maintenance, software, and hardware support for the BHS located at the Airport. This position will have a varied schedule based on operational need and be on-call to respond to emergency events.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

This class specification represents only the core areas of responsibilities; specific position assignments will vary depending on the needs of the department.
  • Maintains and analyzes various reports for work completed, performance, and regulatory records as required for the systems at CVG AA.
  • Plan, organize, and control the operation and maintenance of the airport BHS through an operations and maintenance contract and other supporting contracts for CVG AA.
  • Facilitates and provides oversight to all subcontractors supporting the BHS at CVG AA.
  • Reviews blueprints, drawings, and schematics for BHS and additional projects.
  • Maintains existing BHS and additional systems by replacing or upgrading equipment.
  • Supervise contract teams with preventative maintenance programs and airport BHS and system repairs.
  • Supports contract activity and CVG AA maintenance departments, works with assigned maintenance department stakeholders in the development of scopes of work, as well as any acceptance post work completion.
  • Develops and implements BHS Standard Operation Procedures (SOP), maintenance instructions, job descriptions, safety instructions etc.
  • Management of BHS work order life cycle for all assigned contract activity.
  • Ownership of contract budgets, implementation of cost controls, and invoicing.
  • Maintains working relationships with CVG AA internal stakeholders, contractors, suppliers, and tenants to resolve issues related to daily operations.
  • Prepares BHS analysis and reports to CVG AA teams and contractors.
  • Liaison for contract personnel on the Computer Maintenance Management Systems, responding to questions, troubleshooting issues, and working with IT to ensure they are addressed quickly and efficiently.
  • Provides data and reports for audit of Board contracts within the maintenance groups and assists with verifying contract compliance.
  • Proactively problem solves contract-related issues.
  • Works with the Department Head in determining when BHS and system contingency plans should be put into place and monitoring performance of those plans. Will be responsible for recommending and implementing any changes that need to take place with those plans.
  • Responsible for all contract management activities as documented in KCAB Policy 1014, Contract Management. As the subject matter expert responsible for all key aspects of contract management, ensuring KCAB's interests are represented in any business activities regarding the agreement.
  • Staff management responsibility may include supervision, delegation and review of assigned work, performance appraisals, coaching/counseling, staff development, application of organizational policies and procedures.
  • Performs other duties of a similar nature and level as assigned.
TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor's degree in a related field to the area of assignment and seven years of related experience, including experience with electrical systems; or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above.

LICENSING/CERTIFICATIONS:
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Obtain and maintain Security Identification Display Area (SIDA) clearance
  • Obtain and maintain non-movement area driving
  • Electrical license is preferred
